City Science in Mexico and Latin America

“UrbInt 2017: Step @Guadalajara” is a second of a series of City Science workshops that aim to establish the basic concepts and a shared language to discuss and analyze the urban phenomena. The participants are from all different areas including Computer Science, Urbanism, Architecture, Art, Sociology, Economy, Electrical Engineering, etc. working around Cities. The ultimate goal is to set the foundations of this new discipline (City Science) in Mexico and Latin America. We explore new ways of understanding the complex dynamics of cities to propose solutions according to the great challenges they face. This includes emerging technologies such as IoT, machine learning, data analysis, ubiquitous and sensing technologies, coupled with interventions and experiments in urban environments.
